dot.com Dating - a Tyndale House Review

I have just had the chance to review dot.comDating by Les and Leslie Parrott. "finding your right someone online, avoiding the liars, losers, and freaks"

This book is separated into 3 sections. The first part talks about the 6 myths of Online Dating. The book goes to touching some of the most common things people think and say about online dating. And it goes on to reassure you to why they are truly just myths and why they just are not valid arguments anymore. dot.comDating shows the reader how the last few years have really changed in the online dating world.
The second part explains how to know if online dating is for you or not. And the book ends up with the third part explaining how to tell the difference between online dating sites. It helps you to know what each site brings to the user and how to choose.

I really liked this book. I was not sure what I was getting into when I ordered it. It was a quick read and I did so in one setting. But there was enough there that makes it worth while. I felt educated about the whole online dating process and now have a fresh outlook on it. I admit that I had thought some of the "myths" myself. The stigmas around online dating are out there. We all know them. This book showed me just how practical it was. I actually found myself telling my dad and mom about it!

Single Christians have a hard time when they have such strong morals and standards that we often find ourselves settling because we just do not know where to find others like us. We look for other singles in all the wrong places. When they do not magically appear at church, we start branching out... to singles hang outs, even bars. But then what happens to those standards we had? Discouraged we let ourselves settle...
But what if we could have a room full of singles with the same standards that we are looking for right in front of us? How amazing a concept. That is what online dating is like. We are less likely to settle for things we really do not want because you are matched based on your needs.

So how impersonable is that? Not really. What is the difference if you meet someone in a restaurant, at the mall, in a church or an online service. It is really about how you meet but after that you still have to date in person. After reading this book I feel really positive about dot.comDating.

There is a lot of info packed into this little book. And it is not flowery and over kill. It is too the point. I recommend this book to anyone thinking of online dating or just tired of the same options that are getting them no where. If you are ready to take the next step to finding love, then check this book out first.

I received this book free for review from Tyndale Media Center and was not required to post a positive review.
