My new cookbook :)

So I got this cookbook for my birthday (early present to myself). This is the lady who blogs most of the meals I have linked to try this year. I really enjoy her site. I am loving this cookbook as if it was a fiction book I enjoy reading! I took it to read at the orthodontist today. It is good even if you do not cook anything out of it but just buy it to read!

I also love her blog and read it every day.

Tonight I skipped a head in my planning and picked to do the homemade chicken strips and twice baked potatoes from her blog. The other day when I made her beans and corn bread it was a flop with my kids. My husband liked it and so did I. We both actually LOVED the corn bread. It will be made again. But my kiddos, they would rather have chili or a can of Bushes Baked Beans. The home made beans did not go over well. But ok move on. Tonight the chicken strips and twice baked potatoes were a hit with EVERYONE. No I did not really need the recipe for the twice baked potatoes. I have actually mastered how to do that but I like linking the recipe that I do make just to keep it all here - incase I go crazy and forget someday :)

My kitchen smelled great but I know tomorrow I will hate it. There is something about waking up to the grease smell the day after we fry something. That might be why I bake most of my foods. I really really hate the kitchen smell the next day. Even when all the dishes are done. It hangs in the air. I am sure it will hang in the air today because I cooked later and the grease was too hot. It will greet me on the stove tomorrow morning. Blah. Thank GOD I am NOT pregnant because one day my husband fried foods when I was pregnant with Alyssa and after sleeping on the couch that night - he never tried it again my two other pregnancies.

  1. This is my favorite cookbook. Although I might have to quite it soon because I need to lose weight and she's not helping. LOL
