BookSneeze Review - Girl Talk With God by Susie Shellenberger

Girl Talk with God by Susie Shellenberger is a devotional book full of made up conversations between a young girl and God.

I picked this book because I thought it would be a nice book to give to my daughter when she is a little older. Trying hard to keep in mind the age group this book has in mind, I eagerly read this book. While it is not as  deep as I might have wanted to read - I think this book serves its purpose. To show girls that our prayers, conversations with God can be more than just prayer lists. That God desires to have a deeper relationship with us.

I have always prayed that way and I like that this book shows matter what happens, good or bad, God is still there. He wants to talk with you through it all. Not just when we are perfect. It also shows the point that I have always known that " God knows ". He knows when you are sinning and just by not praying we are not fooling Him. This book helps show young girls it is ok to pray even when we feel unworthy. God is still there.

I enjoyed this book. It was not what I expected but I did like it. I think it is light reading and a great level that touches briefly on a broad array of topics. This book covers everything from Divorce, Cutting, Cds and more.

It was a little strange for me to read God talking and it being a fictional conversation though. But that is the direction the author is  using to get across their messages. I think it is a good book for girls in their early teens.
