Merry Christmas!

I laid in bed this Christmas morning because I was going to my parents church service and that means sleeping in. Very strange to have a Christmas morning with no presents, no chatter from the kids... They were at their dads...

My first Christmas morning alone... How do I feel about that? Coulda felt lonely... A little sad... Depressed...

But before I even had a chance to feel anything, my cell phone started.

And it hasn't stopped all morning.  I was flooded by friends - who were having their own celebrations, thinking of me. Texting and calling to wish me a Merry Christmas and tell me I am loved.

I had to get moving and into the shower but smiled starting my very blessed day knowing what amazing people God has brought into my life.

Old friends, new, family and those so dear to me they might as well be my family.

No matter how the rest of my Christmas goes - and I am lookin forward to church, grandma relative christmas, then my parents, I have already been reminded what an amazing life I live surrounded by the most amazing friends and family.

Thank you Lord for your Son. And for caring about me today. Knowing just what I needed.

  4. I spent many years childless for Christmas. Sara's father often would take her. I figured he could give her a larger family gathering similar to what I had when I was a child with extended family ( though it was her step-mothers) so I would volunteer to work. One yr I worked 7a-7p Christmas eve and 7-3 Christmas day so others could be with their families. So the last several yrs have been weird not working Christmas. so volunteering with our church's Christmas Dinner on Christmas Day is a way to broaden and see the true meaning of Christmas.
